Vincent Roof-Racine, BSc, CAT(C), CSCS

Vincent Roof-Racine Vincent has been involved in a sports milieu since he took his first steps; either playing soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis and hockey or by practicing more extreme sports like jet-skiing, snowboarding and wakeboarding. Vincent knows what it takes to be a successful athlete as he was faced with the reality of being a high level athlete since adolescence. Therefore pursuing a career where sports are the central component, whether by training or by rehabilitation, was an easy decision to make.

Vincent graduated his Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science with a Specialization in Athletic Therapy at Concordia University in August 2008 from where he continued his involvement with athletes. His responsibilities ranged from supervising the summer training of a University golf player, assisting the head therapist of a Semi-Professional hockey team, working at the World Policeman and Fireman Games to serving as the student Athletic Therapist for a Junior AAA hockey team as well as a rugby team. All of these opportunities helped him gain valuable experience and allow him to develop his talent and sharpen his skills in the way he wanted to practice Athletic Therapy.

In the summer of 2008, Vincent spent his clinical internship portion of his Bachelor Degree interning at High Performance Sport. As a clinical internship student at HPC, he discovered a team of dedicated and dynamic professionals with whom he shared a similar vision and motivation and who allowed him to verify his desire to pursue a career in this specific field.

Now an integral part of the High Performance team, Vincent was the Athletic Therapist for the Acadie-Bathurst Titans in the QMJHL for the past two seasons. His responsibilities among others, includes the rehabilitation, emergency care and strength training of all the hockey players throughout the hockey season. He is now entering is first season with the Montreal Alouettes Football Club as an Assistant Athletic Therapist. The next step in his career journey will be to complete his certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and certification with the National Athletic Trainers Association to become an Athletic T. He is certified with the Canadian Athletic Therapist’s Association since November 2009.

When working with athletes, Vincent brings his determination, enthusiasm and his desire to make athletes and people perform beyond their expectations. His manual therapy approach is characterized by a combination of soft tissues release, manual mobilizations, stretching and strengthening. He strives consistently to learn, improve and broaden his horizons. “Never be satisfied” is a quote that would describe. Let Vincent help you achieve goals you never thought possible.
